Automated Mineralogy Mapping of Refractory Gold Ores from Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy Scans of Polished Rock Sections

Faculty: Jillian Aira S. Gabo-Ratio, D.Eng.

This study hopes to optimize geometallurgical investigations by automating the mineral mapping process (percentage of minerals, textures, grain sizes, etc.) of refractory gold ores using open-source methods.

This research addresses UN Sustainable Development Goals for Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Responsible Consumption and Production (SDG 12), and Climate Action (SDG 13).
