Project 1, “LIGTAS-AGAD: Integrating real-time monitoring and remote sensing for enhanced onshore landslide mechanism analysis and forecasting in hazard-prone terranes” aims to enhance our understanding of landslide causative factors and utilize remote sensing techniques for accurate landslide and debris flow identification and mapping. From site-specific studies on soil physical characterization in the different geologic terranes in the Luzon and Central Philippines, the findings will be utilized towards the development of effective early warning systems, not just in the site but with possible applications in areas with similar geologic make-up. This proposed project will also integrate the results of the work that has been done for the Phase 1 and 2 of Project LIGTAS and the results of LIGTAS-AGAD Project 2.
This research addresses the UN Sustainable Development Goals for Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure (SDG 9), Sustainable Cities and Communities (SDG 11), Climate Action (SDG 13), and Life on Land (SDG 15).
